Nowadays, everyone will use “The strawberry generation”on behalf of the younger generation. This word is used to express a generation who cannot bear too much stress; who is too vulnerable to stand the frustration from the reality society; who always pays their attention on the appearance but not the content of the things. In our daily life, the expression, the younger generation, always be replaced with the strawberry generation from the newspaper, magazines, and some news on TV, as well. However, in my point of view, I think that this stigma is not a correctly expression to indicate all of us, the younger generation. Most of the younger generations are always stuck to the sticker of the strawberry generations by the mass media; however, this is not a proper representative of us for not everyone of the generation is that kind of person they think. Therefore, when the working hard adults of this generation are seeking the new job, they always face the obstacles and cannot get the job smoothly just because the misunderstanding from the outside world. Moreover, nobody ever thinks that why the generation will become this kind of personality. They just contribute the reasons to the younger generations who are not working hard and just abandon themselves in the entertainment. However, as far as I am concerned, I think that part of the responsibilities come from their parents. Nowadays, many parents spoiled their children and give what they wants instead of teaching them the cruel of the real society. So that is why the new generations grow comfortably and frustrated seriously.
As for me, I think that I am a little bit like the generation of strawberry. Whenever the frustration comes, I always cannot stand the stress and do not want to face the music. However, I am not the pursuer of the appearance and the entertainment. Maybe my personality will change as soon as I step into the career life, and this is all I hope to, to strip the sticker of the strawberry generations.
I agree with you that part of the reasons why young generation becomes what people call “strawberry generation” comes from their parents. Many children have been so spoiled by their parents ever since their childhoods that they do not even know how to face the problems in their life. Whenever there is a problem in front of them, their parents will try to figure out the solution for them. So, they mostly get frustrated when they are encountered with problems without others’ help!
回覆刪除In my junior high school, I think many students are just like the “strawberry generation.” Whenever they face some problems, they choose to escape away or wait until their parents come to solve the problems for them. For me, these students have no sense of responsibility at all! I just can’t imagine what these students will become when someday they step into the society.
In my opinion, I think the parents of “strawberry generation” should be re-educated. If they do not teach their children how to be independent in their life, then how could their children learn the meaning of “No pain, no gain.”
I am glad that you have seen your problem with “strawberry generation.” I believe that if you have the determination to make a change in your personality, you will learn how to face the frustration in your life little by little, though it takes time to make it.

1.pays their attention "to" instead of pays their attention "on"
2. Be careful when you use the word "therefore". It is used to connect two statements with causal relationship. In your article, the statement before "therefore" dose not seem to have logical link with the statement that follows "therefore". Check it!
